SmartGames is a game that uses a unique gameplay mechanic

Our games require a great deal of thought! It’s not just about playing them, but also creating them. When we create or design SmartGames, at least one of the five puzzle mechanics is always in mind. Which games combine the following mechanics?

Packing Problem

A good packing puzzle is always a hit! These puzzles can be 2D or 3-D, and you have to use all of your pieces in order to complete the board. All pieces must fit on the board. You usually start with a few pieces already on the board. Then you must figure out how to place the rest. The outcome is not known in advance. There are different levels of difficulty for these types of puzzles, depending on how the board is shaped, the puzzle pieces used, and the starting situation. IQ love is a great example of a packing problem. IQ Puzzler pro and Cube Duel are also good examples.

Sequential Movement Puzzle

Sequential movement puzzles require you to move puzzle pieces from point A to B. It sounds simple, but it’s important to remember the order in which you should move each piece to its final position. You must follow the steps in the right order to solve the puzzle. This puzzle technique is used in Grizzly gears Anti Virus Squirrels Go Nuts JumpIn’.

Connect the puzzle

You can play games like Temple Connection or Little Red Riding Hood. In these games you have to connect at least two points. It is not necessary to use all the pieces of the puzzle, but they must be linked together.

Deductive reasoning and logic

Instructions and rules are crucial in games that rely on logic and deduction. Instructions dictate how to place the puzzle pieces, and what criteria you must meet in order to solve the challenge. The shape of the pieces is not a factor in packing problems. Diamond Quest, and Snowwhite are two of the best examples. Pirates Crossfire has a variety of challenges that you can solve by aiming cannons at your opponent.

Matching puzzle

You can recreate an image by matching the puzzle pieces. You know what the final result will be, but you have to work out how to achieve it with the pieces you have. Peek-A -Zoo , Bunny-Boo and Color code all use the same puzzle mechanics. Colour code is a good example. You need to select the pieces that you think you’ll need and then arrange them in the right order.

Combinations

SmartGames combine these mechanics in order to make games more interesting. Take IQ circuit as an example. This pocket-sized game is a combination between a packing and a connection puzzle. Shooting Stars is another example of a combination game. It combines matching mechanics with logic, deduction and reasoning. Brain Train is a combination of 4 game mechanics. It is a matching, packing, logic, and connection puzzle.
